Strategic Priorities can be considered the ultimate “connector” between the other three DNA frameworks.
Strategic Priorities will never be set without a strategic plan.
The 1000 day plan will never be fully implemented and adjusted without strategic people who can make those decisions.
Finally, strategic priorities are often most clearly reflected in the dollars and cents represented by a strategic funding plan.
Ultimately, the issue facing most leaders is whether they will react and respond to the tyranny of the urgent and/or become a single focus leader.
Finally, there must be clarity and alignment in roles and responsibilities for these strategic priorities between the Board, Head of School and Leadership team as reflected in the slide below. The Board should serve as "builders" of capacity to provide support to the Head who is then responsible for the assignment and accountability of the strategic priorities for implementation with the leadership team. The flourishing Christian school leadership structure enables each leadership area to work independently in their roles while also understanding and supporting the fulfillment of strategic priorities by the others. BMSG has been able to use our framework to help a number of schools set these priorities with clear alignment. We would love to have the chance to help you with our Framework that Works!
